Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you service?
I service most areas of the Hunter Valley, including Pokolbin, Broke, Lovedale, Wollombi, North Rothbury, Branxton, Cessnock and surrounding suburbs. Happy to discuss locations out of these areas as I am willing to travel if needed.
How do I book?
Once you decide to proceed with booking my services, I will issue a Tax Invoice via email for a Deposit. The Deposit is one hour’s worth of Babysitting and will go towards the first hour of babysitting on the day of your booking. This deposit can be paid via Bank Transfer.
How are payments accepted?
I can accept payments via Bank Transfer or Cash on the day. All payments must be made at the end of the booking on the day. A Paid Tax Invoice will be issued for all payments via email within 48 hours of the completed booking.
Do you have a minimum booking period?
I’m available for as much or as little time as you need, I do not have a minimum booking time. For shorter commitments, if outside of the usual areas listed, I may have to charge a travel fee to cover my travel time.
What Days/Times are you available?
I’m available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with advanced booking. Saturday's are very popular and these can book out months in advance.
Are you able to provide Car Seats suitable for my Child/Children?
Yes! I have access to many different car seats, depending on the ages of the children in my care if they are required.
Can you provide extra services such as transport, meals & activities?
Most certainly! I have a reliable, fully comprehensive insured vehicle with many car seats configurations for all ages, educational activities to suit all ages and nutritious meals can be discussed for an extra fee depending on dietary needs.
Why do you ask for a deposit?
This is to secure your preferred date. I generally only book one babysitting appointment per day to allow for flexibility where needed. Unfortunately, in the past, I have had dates booked in then I’ve never been able to contact them again. This has meant I have had to say No to other clients and missed out on genuine bookings.
What Qualifications do you have?
Diploma of Children’s Services completed in 2005, Current First Aid in an Education and Care Setting Certificate along with CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training and a Working with Children Check. All my qualifications are available to view on request.
What is the process after I secure my booking?
About one week out from your booking, I will make contact to confirm all the details and at this time, parents may wish to send through any information & routines about their children. This allows the day to run smoothly as I can cater for any interests they may have and discuss any concerns parents may be feeling.
What happens if you aren’t available due to illness?
After being in the Child Care Industry for many years, I can safely say that I believe my immune system is pretty good and I rarely get sick. But worst case scenario, if this was to happen, I’d be happy to help you source another babysitter and any deposit paid would be fully refundable.
Why should I choose Wine Country Babysitting?
Along with my extensive 18 years experience and qualifications, Wine Country Babysitting is a registered business with an ABN as a Sole Trader and I am fully insured to provide that extra peace of mind for parents & caregivers.
Can I make a booking at the last minute?
Of course! If I’m available, I will endeavour to assist you with your babysitting needs.
Unfortunately, I have to cancel my booking, is my deposit refundable?
In most circumstances, Yes! I understand that life can happen, especially with children.
How do you accept payment?
I accept payments via Bank Transfer and Cash. Final payment is due at the completion of Babysitting on the day. A Tax Invoice is issued for all payments within 48 hours of the completed appointment.
I need more than one babysitter, can you assist?
Unfortunately, Wine Country Babysitting is just me. I am happy to work with other Babysitters, but these must be sourced separately to myself as my insurance and business only covers myself.
Do you cater for regular weekly care?
Unfortunately, at this point in time, I am only able to provide occasional, casual Babysitting services as I am unable to lock into permanent days per week due to other commitments. I am also unable to provide Before & After School Care, including drop off & pick up as these services do not allow me to take on full day bookings or child care work.
